Winter Clothing

Snow has begun to fall on and off, and there is a definite winter chill in the air!  A few reminders – if you haven’t already brought in a pair snow pants & snow boots for your child(ren), we need them ASAP. Please remember to pack a warm hat and waterproof/water-resistant gloves/mittens daily for your child or if you have extras feel free to keep them here in their cubby!  The knit gloves get wet within seconds of being outside and then their little hands get really cold!  Extra clothes are vital especially as the weather gets colder, so please pack each day an extra set or keep a set here.  Also, dressing your child in layers (like an onion) really helps keeping your child warm during outdoor play.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Preventing the Spread of Infulenza

According to information provided by the Department of Health & Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, “Vaccination against the flu each fall is the single best way to prevent influenza.  Vaccination also may help to decrease the spread of influenza among children in the child care setting and among care providers.”  Influenza vaccination is recommended for:

All children age 6 months until their 5th birthday

•People who care for children 0-5 years of age

•Children less than 6 months of age are not eligible for the flu vaccine, but are at high risk of influenza complications.  The best way to protect children less than 6 months is to vaccinate everyone around them.
